Remembering Dancers

In memory of Nancy Lob

Nancy first studied with Barbara Mettler while a student at Bridgewater State College in the 1950s, and continued to dance with Barbara at the YMCU in Boston.

When Barbara relocated to Tucson in the early 1960s to build her studio, Nancy was soon to follow. She danced in Cora Well's Dance Now in Newton (as did many of us in the Boston area) for several years from the 1970s until Cora moved to Tucson, at which point she and others kept dancing under the name Still Dancing (as did many of us in the Boston area).

Nancy was a founding member of IACD, serving on its Board for several years. She was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2011.

During COVID, she and Helen Horigan continued Still Dancing every Monday night at 7:00 pm, each in their own homes. They then shared their experiences the following week.

Her daughter Susannah has been dancing with her during this time, the most recent with the theme of lifting and lowering.
